Learning in the community

Learning to access the community is a main learning feature at Homefield, as the majority of learning actually takes place in the community. Students will learn practical skills that the individual needs to function successfully in adult society. Students will be learning skills to access the community and its shops and facilities.Learning is tailored to the individual student’s abilities and support needs. Learning may include personal safety, travel training, social rules, shopping, managing own behaviours. English, maths and communication skills that will be useful in real life are also taught within these real activities.
