Transferable Employment Skills

The college recognises the importance of students learning through real life activities and over time the college has introduced a good range of vocational enterprises in which learning can take place. At the different enterprises, students learn vocational specific skills, and also transferable work skills. Transferable work skills are skills that are taught across the different enterprises, specific to what the student needs to learn and skills that will enable them to gain and maintain a job. These transferable skills are also hugely beneficial to their future lives. Here are some examples of transferable work skills, working with others, communicating professionally with members of the public, being responsible for personal belongings, looking presentable, organising self for travel.
