New vocational session at College Garth Rescue Kennels

Date: 21st June 2019

We've recently started a new vocational session with College Garth Rescue Kennels in Hathern where one of our students is a volunteer dog walker!
Up to 10 stray dogs can arrive at College Garth each week, and whilst they are looked after by a team of workers, help is needed to ensure each dog gets plenty of exercise and companionship.
This opportunity has provided our student with valuable work skills, from following instructions by the Kennel staff to taking full responsibility of each dog - making sure they cross the road safely, cleaning up after mess, and providing treats and water.
Not only that, but our student is showing a great deal of empathy, and as a result of this experience would like to consider pursuing dog walking as a future career.
To find out more about how you could also offer your time to help the dogs, visit their website. Volunteers are welcome 7 days a week between the hours of 12pm - 3pm.
