Day Services updates: Learning the Art of Pruning
9 Oct 2019

Our Day Services maintenance group have had a busy fortnight, clearing the front of Mountsorrel for our second Open Day and learning the art of pruning in order to start on landscaping the shrubbery. They've been pruning, shaping and weeding our plant areas to make sure the hidden features are better on display.

On Friday a group went to a Charnwood Action Group meeting in Birstall, where they listened to talks from the Hate Crime Officer for Leicestershire, an Age UK advocacy service and about the Round the World challenge programme.

The craft group have been having a go at making knitted hats - we can't wait to see how they turn out!

Busy few weeks for Day Services

Through their hard work, the group have picked up more work to last us well into autumn. We are now looking at gardening, hard landscaping and maintenance work in Mountsorrel and Sileby - and we’ve only just started!

Our Monday group also lent a hand, removing plants and rubbish in front of our Sileby sites.

The team had a fantastic day, playing five separate matches with some difficult opposition. Coming together with great team spirit, they made the most of a very special day.
