Therapies & Inclusion

Therapies at Homefield

Homefield offer a variety of therapies onsite including;

  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Creative expressive Therapies - Dramatherapy and Music therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physiotherapy

All of our therapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and they are a member of their own professional bodies. All of our therapists attend external supervision and regular training events and conferences to ensure skills and knowledge is up-to-date and continued.

Students are referred on a needs basis to our internal therapies by their tutors, social workers and supporting staff to receive an initial assessment. Parents, other external professionals and the students can also refer to our therapy team. Therapeutic support may be accessed individually or in groups and it may be direct or indirect therapeutic support. Therapists work with both students and staff to meet the needs of our students. Our therapy team also attend multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to strategies in terms of behavioural, emotional presentations as well as concerns with physical, emotional and mental health. All students who receive support by the therapies team will have a report written by the therapist that will include therapeutic aims, outcome measure, progression of therapy and any further recommendations. Our therapies team work to ensure our students are holistically supported during their time at Homefield College.
