Contract: 15 Hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Are you passionate about promoting emotional wellbeing and supporting young people? We are looking for a Wellbeing Assistant to help students develop emotional literacy, coping strategies, and social skills in an inclusive educational environment.

Wellbeing Assistant

To provide wellbeing support and guidance to students to increase their emotional literacy and coping strategies to enable an educational experience, which prepares students for adulthood and is in accordance with our organisational values:

Wellbeing Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tier 1 Wellbeing sessions to the students under the support of the counsellor.
  • Support the implementation of therapeutic interventions through effective modelling of practices within a classroom setting.
  • Support students who have significant communication difficulties using a total communication approach.
  • Assist in the facilitation of lunch time social activities to improve the wellbeing of the students.
  • Gather evidence and record data for assessment purposes and to measure impact of intervention strategies under the guidance of the relevant therapists.
  • Support the effective embedding of literacy, numeracy, communication, IT, British Values and Prevent in all aspects of learning.
  • Develop and adapt new learning resources to enhance the learning experience and enable greater independence.
  • Co-create the students passports with the students, ensuring student voice is embedded throughout.
  • Refer students to the counsellor where additional support is required.
  • Participate in supervision with the counsellor to ensure safe and effect practice.

Education & Qualifications
