What is an Open Day?
Our Open Days are a chance for you to meet our teaching staff and current students, who can tell you all about the sessions we offer that interest you, as well as answer any questions you or your family may have. It’s a way of exploring our College offering and making sure you feel certain that Homefield is the right place for you.
Why choose Homefield?
All of our students are welcomed into a specialist learning environment tailored to their abilities, as we recognise that everyone is unique and has different interests, strengths and needs.
We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of innovative learning and development programmes to ensure our students make the most out of their time with us. We encourage our students to become part of the local communities, accessing village and town amenities to advance their life skills and independence.
We deliver a wide range of vocational courses, many taking place in a high street setting. From serving customers and baking delicious cakes in our popular Barrow of Treats cafe and sweetshop, to managing our horticultural and woodwork enterprises, we help our students into the workplace and achieve their ambitions. Our students learn through experience, with English, Maths and IT skills embedded into the curriculum.
Our students enjoy a full and varied social life, developing their hobbies through activities such as swimming and football or arts and crafts sessions led by our tutors and support staff. Our residential students can also choose from a variety of evening and weekend activities, including bowling, visiting museums, and exploring the local countryside.
We make every learning environment as rewarding as possible through our person-centred timetables, basing lesson objectives and personal progress goals to suit each student. Homefield is about you, and how we can help in your transition to independent living, community life and work placements.
