Contract: 37 hours a week, 52 weeks a year

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee / Assistant Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team.
Ideal for a recent graduate or Level 4 qualified individual, this role offers the opportunity to develop financial planning, analysis and reporting skills in a supportive educational environment.
Trainee / Assistant Management Accountant
You will play a key role in budgeting, cost analysis and compliance, contributing to the strategic financial health of the College while embodying our values of equality, empowerment, respect and sustainability.
Role Responsibilities:
- Financial reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Cost analysis: Analyse costs and expenditures to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Financial planning: Support the development of financial plans and strategies to achieve the College’s objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and college policies.
- Data management: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.
- Support: Provide financial support and advice to various departments within the College.
- Projects: Assist with financial projects and initiatives as required.
- Audit: Support internal and external audit processes.

Education & Qualifications

The successful candidate with have either a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field / OR Level 4 qualification (e.g. AAT Level 4) OR Part qualified CCAB (CIMA/ACCA etc) Accountant.
