From Stage to Page: Our Performing Arts students write about their theatre adventures
Performing Arts students have recently started taking exciting trips to Curve Theatre in Leicester to experience the magic of live musical theatre - beginning with "Hairspray" on 26th September, followed by "Dear Evan Hansen" on 3rd October.
After the two shows, tutor Kiah challenged the students to write about their experiences, detailing their opinions on the performances. Excitingly, some of our Pathway 2 and Pathway 3 students decided to accomplish this in the form of WordPress blog posts, virtually sharing their reviews with the online theatre community!
The first blog post came from Pathway 3 student Jacob A, who creatively titled his blog “Jacob’s Train of Thought“, inspired by his love for trains. His review of “Dear Evan Hansen” is incredibly insightful, diving into the plot and main themes of the show, while also highlighting his personal favourite and most relatable moments.
Another post came from Pathway 3 student Grace K, who reviewed both “Dear Evan Hansen” and “& Juliet” on her “Grace’s Gossip” blog. She described her experiences in great detail, noting her likes and dislikes, and even suggesting ways for the theatre to improve their accessibility!
Lastly, in Pathway 2 student Jude M’s fun review of “Hairspray”, he lists his favourite songs and scenes from the show, mentioning how inspired he was by the performance and including pictures of the programme!
We’re so proud of our students for expressing their thoughts and experiences in such an inspiring manner, and we look forward to their next reviews!
