As a result, we’re thrilled to share the exciting things some of our students have been up to recently:
Aimee – Riverview Reptiles
Pathway 3 student Aimee has been keeping busy at Riverview Reptiles, staying curious and eager to learn all about the food and supplements for the animals. She has also been carrying out health checks on the reptiles, always making sure their enclosures were sparkling clean.
Aimee has greatly enjoyed her time at Riverview Reptiles, describing the experience as “really good”. Her love for reptiles has definitely shone through in this work experience journey, although her next goal will be to explore retail and supermarkets, in order to further plan her career path.
Jack – Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation
Jack, another one of our Pathway 3 students, has spent his work placement at Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation’s charity shop. There, he efficiently mastered customer service skills, while also learning how to accurately price items, create appealing displays, and sort through the shop’s donations.
Emily – Posh Dogs
Pathway 2 student Emily has thrived and excelled at Posh Dogs. Her active listening and full engagement were evident and incredibly helpful as she followed instructions perfectly and further developed her skills. At Posh Dogs, she was responsible for helping to wash and dry the dogs, while also ensuring the space was kept tidy by sweeping the floors.
We’re incredibly proud of Aimee, Jack and Emily for all of their hard work and commitment to trying new things, learning new skills and progressing in their journey at Homefield.
We’d also like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the wonderful employers we collaborate with for the work experience opportunities they offer our students.
