Honouring excellence – Homefield’s 2025 Staff Awards
Last week, we wrapped up the academic year in true Homefield fashion at our annual Staff Development & Awards Day - a celebration of dedication, collaboration and the people who make Homefield such a special place to work, learn and grow.
The day began with an exciting first look at Strategy 2030, our bold and ambitious vision for the next five years. It sparked fantastic conversations and a renewed sense of purpose as we look ahead to what’s next. Staff from across departments engaged with the strategy, sharing ideas and insights on how we can continue to build an inclusive, supportive and forward-thinking college together.

Vic Myko Award
This year’s event also included the second presentation of the Vic Myko Award for Improved Autism Practice, introduced last year in memory of our much-loved colleague Vic, who helped shape autism inclusion and support at Homefield.
We are proud to announce that this year’s recipient is Rachel Edwards, one of our dedicated tutors.
Rachel consistently demonstrates best practice – through thoughtful observations, flexible planning and an unwavering focus on putting autistic students first. She also supports her colleagues in enhancing their own practice, making a wider impact across the College.
Rachel shared: “I’m truly honoured to receive the Vic Myko Award. It came as a complete surprise! Working for Homefield is incredibly rewarding and I feel very lucky to be part of a team that’s so dedicated, supportive and passionate about our students. Thank you so much – this recognition means a great deal to me.”

Congratulations, Rachel – and thank you for all that you do.
To every member of staff: thank you for your hard work, resilience and commitment throughout the year. We are proud of all that we’ve achieved together. Here’s to a well-deserved summer break and an exciting journey ahead!
