Student Success – Supported Internship Secured
Over lockdown, Nuneaton student Oliver K told staff his dream of working with watches. Determined to make it a reality, staff set out looking for career opportunities.
In September 2021, Oliver went to an interview at Timpson in Nuneaton town centre where he was accepted for a Supported Internship position. During his internship, Oliver will be learning how to fix watches, repair shoes, and engrave & cut keys.
Speaking about the interview, Oliver said: “I was very enthusiastic about the interview and I am looking forward to learning and building on my skills”.
By the end of his first work day the following week, Oliver had already managed to fix a shoe with help from his manager Dave, served his first customer and took orders for dry cleaning services.
After his first day, Oliver said: “I enjoyed my first day working, I have gained some great skills and experience already”.
We are looking forward to seeing Oliver progress during his internship in a sector he wants to future employment in. We are really proud of Oliver’s professional approach and his commitment to achieving his career goals.
