College Rules
To come to College, students must follow the College rules.
At college, we should:
✓ Respect staff, students and visitors
✓ Go to lessons on time
✓ Walk around college
✓ Take care of belongings
✓ Follow Health & Safety rules
✓ Put things away after using them
✓ Tell staff where we are going
✓ Listen to others
✓ Help others when we can
✓ Ask for help if we need it
✓ Log in to a computer using own username
At college, we do not:
– Hurt other people.
This includes: kicking, punching, hitting, pinching, saying / signing / sending hurtful messages, threatening others.
– Use the internet to look at pornography or terrorism material
If you do not understand what these are, you can talk to staff.
– Bring these items into college:
Knives or weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol and gambling items.
– Damage College or other peoples things
– Steal things
– Say hurtful things about someone
– Be rude about someone’s:
- Religion
- Race/colour of their skin
- Gender
- Disability
- Sexual Preference
- If you do not understand what these mean, you can talk to staff.
What happens if students break the rules?
If I break college rules, there are disciplinary stages.
- 1st stage warning – a meeting to talk about my behaviour
- 2nd stage warning – another meeting where I will make an action plan
- Final warning – I will be warned about exclusion
- Exclusion means I cannot come to college for a while. If I am excluded, we will create an action plan for when I can return
If I return after exclusion and continue to break the rules…
- Permanent expulsion – I cannot come back to college again
