IT Technician – Nuneaton Campus

IT Technician responsibilities:

  • Operate primarily in a first-line support role for the College, providing customer support by accurately recording, updating and documenting requests utilising the IT helpdesk and support colleagues in fault analysis including the escalation of incidents when necessary.
  • Install, maintain and upgrade College hardware, software and network equipment primarily at Nuneaton Campus, but across multiple geographical sites, including:
    • Maintain staff and student user profiles across all IT systems and databases.
    • Ensure backups are carried out in accordance with IT policies and contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
    • Manage College mobile devices and ensure the BYOD and Acceptable Use Policies are followed.
  • Collaborate with the IT Team to ensure effective IT processes and procedures are in place and assist with the implementation of project work.
  • Create, maintain and publish relevant support documentation in order to assist users in the quick resolution of their incidents and service requests and enable them to become more self-sufficient.
  • Support colleagues in reviewing the specification of new equipment and obtain competitive quotes before purchase.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in information technology for example, Network technology, other hardware and software. This may include participation in appropriate staff development / training / events.
