Taking Time to Reset: Our Staff Wellbeing Wednesday
At Homefield, our staff work hard to support, empower and inspire our students every single day. Taking time to pause, unwind and look after our own mental and physical health is incredibly important, which is why last week’s Wellbeing Wednesday was such a welcome highlight for our team.
The afternoon was a fantastic success, giving colleagues the perfect opportunity to step away from their usual routines, connect with one another and reset. Staff were able to choose from a brilliant mix of creative, hands-on and relaxing workshops led by some wonderful instructors.
Here is a look at what our team got up to across our sessions:
Getting Creative: Arts & Crafts
For those looking to express themselves through colour and design, staff member Julie hosted a relaxed arts and crafts workshop. It was a wonderful space for colleagues to chat, let their creativity flow and experiment with a variety of materials at their own pace.

Shaping New Skills: Pottery
We love trying new things and Ally from The Clayrooms got everyone stuck into learning how to mould clay. Staff learnt the fundamentals of pottery, discovering new skills while shaping and creating their own unique ceramic pieces to take home.

Finding Balance: Yoga & Meditation
Physical and mental alignment was on the agenda with two fantastic movement sessions. In Leicestershire, Dr Natasha hosted a rejuvenating yoga and deep meditation session to help staff stretch and focus on mindfulness. Meanwhile, over at Parkside in Warwickshire, Adele from Fitness & Yoga with Adele led a brilliant guided class that left everyone feeling refreshed and re-energised.

Ultimate Relaxation: Immersive Sound Bath
For the ultimate de-stress experience, Katrina from Berry & Bloom created a beautifully calm, sensory environment for an immersive sound bath. The soothing frequencies allowed staff to completely switch off, let go of the week’s tension and experience deep relaxation.
Coffee, Cake and Catch-Ups
To top off a wonderful afternoon, the whole team came together to catch up over some well-deserved coffee and cake. Balancing a busy college environment with social time is vital for team spirit, and it was lovely to see everyone laughing, sharing stories and enjoying a sweet treat together.
A massive thank you goes out to all of our brilliant external session leaders, our internal staff hosts and everyone who took part with such positive energy. It was a beautiful reminder of how important it is to support our physical and mental wellbeing – we are already looking forward to the next one!
