Students’ Union

Our Students’ Union aims to improve the college by using the opinions of students who attend the college, gaining a valuable insight into the issues that matter most to those who study here. Meetings are held regularly and gather feedback from all sessions across all college sites.

Every year, a Chair is selected to lead the Students’ Union. In the past, we have welcomed Chairs from various learning pathways, representing all genders and identities. A fair vote is held across all three pathways, simulating a real political election to elect the new Chair.

The core promise of our Students’ Union is that every single student feels listened to and that their voice and opinion matter and are respected no matter what.

In previous years, students have helped to organise trips, visit Parliament, meet with local MPs and implement positive changes throughout the college.

By being a part of the Students’ Union, students develop a wide variety of essential life skills focusing on independence, confidence and sharing ideas. These experiences are incredibly beneficial for students in their future lives and within the workplace.

Students’ Union members are accepted every year with no age requirements – our current Chair is actually in her first year at Homefield. All students are welcomed, appreciated and listened to equally.
