Homefield College have five rewarding teaching roles available that will help empower young adults who have learning and/ or communication disabilities. 

Who are we looking for?

We are in search of tutors who will work as part of the Homefield curriculum team to ensure students achieve ambitious outcomes that prepare them for adult life while developing their employability, communication and social skills. 

What is the role of a Homefield tutor?

What specialisms are available? 

This is an exciting time as we expand our team for September 2024. We have the following subject specialism posts available: 

  • Catering & Hospitality 

Position Details: This is a permanent role working 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year with some weekend and non-term-time work required. You will be mainly based in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire and the salary ranges from £31,100- £32,296 depending on experience and qualifications. 

Your Opportunity: Working with students in both our public-facing enterprise Breward’s Coffee Shop and internal catering services, you will support our young people to develop their sector skills whilst running a successful business. 

What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have at least a level 3 qualification in catering and hospitality and a teaching qualification. Experience of teaching students with additional needs is desirable. 

  • Hair & Beauty (Beauty specialism) 

Position Details: This is a permanent role working 18 hours per week, (0.5 FTE) 52 weeks per year. You will be mainly based in Barrow-upon-Soar, Leicestershire and the salary ranges from £31,100- £32,296 FTE depending on experience and qualifications. 

Your Opportunity: Following the successful opening of our inclusive hair, grooming & beauty training salon Spectrum Style, we are now wanting to expand our offer. 

You will be supporting students to deliver treatments to clients whilst working towards their Level 1 Hair & Beauty and Level 2 Beauty qualifications. 

What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have at least a level 3 qualification in beauty and complementary therapies and a teaching qualification. Experience of teaching students with additional needs is desirable. 

  • English & Maths (2 roles) 

Position 1 Details: This is a permanent role working 21 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. You will be based across our sites in Leicestershire and the salary ranges from £31,100- £32,296 depending on experience and qualifications. 

Position 2 Details: This is a permanent role working 21 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. You will be mainly based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire and the salary ranges from £31,100- £32,296 depending on experience and qualifications. 

Your Opportunity: You will support our students to develop their literacy and numeracy skills, whether that be working towards qualifications or specific milestones. This includes delivering bespoke interventions to help our students 

master key literacy and numeracy skills that will benefit in their daily lives.

  • What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have at least a level 3 qualification in either maths or English and a teaching qualification. Experience of teaching students with additional needs is desirable. 
  • IT 

Position: This is a permanent role working 0.4 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. You will be mainly based in Sileby, Leicestershire and the salary ranges from 

£31,100- £32,296 depending on experience and qualifications. 

Your Opportunity: This is a brand new specialism for 2024/25 academic year, so you have the freedom to make this role your own. Covering general IT and coding skills, ideally with a knowledge of or interest in games design you will be supporting students to further their interests and develop their technical skills. 

  • What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have at least a level 3 qualification in a relevant subject and a teaching qualification. Experience of teaching students with additional needs is desirable.
