Last week, our talented Performing Arts students dazzled in their performance of “Personal Development: The Pantomime” for their annual Christmas Show!

Supported Internship student Kieran has recently completed an incredibly interesting project; he presented his views on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the media, with a focus on autism, the range of its representation, as well as how it can be improved upon moving forward.

Performing Arts students have recently started taking exciting trips to Curve Theatre in Leicester to experience the magic of live musical theatre – beginning with “Hairspray” on 26th September, followed by “Dear Evan Hansen” on 3rd October.

We were delighted to join the annual Portland Games competition again this year. In the weeks leading up to the event, our Health & Fitness students prepared thoroughly by researching the venue, packing essentials and learning how to handle different situations as well as the value of teamwork and respect when competing.

What a successful first half term we have had! Work placements are now better than ever, Nuneaton have a farm to care for, and more money than mischief was raised for Macmillan Cancer Charity – at lots of coffee mornings across our sites, with delicious cakes made by our very own Pathway One & Two students!

Hello, I am Denzil, a second-year student at Homefield. I am an ambitious student and with the endorsement and encouragement of the college I have managed to achieve many things that will help me in life.

The year started busy as always, but it was a welcome relief to be going into an academic year without the impact of the pandemic leading the priority of our work. As part of a mock election, Pathway Two Personal Development students created a campaign around what they would do if they were to become PM.

On Tuesday 9th of May we held our annual Student Conference, where students engage in activities as a whole-college community, try something new and develop their skills about a specific theme or topic. This year’s focus was on employability and enterprise.

Last week was National Apprenticeship Week (NAW2023). Apprenticeships are for anyone aged 16 or over at any stage of their career.

In Pathway Three lessons recently, students found out how becoming a ‘litter womble’ can make a difference to others and their local community.

As part of ‘Health & Safety’ Focus Week, from Tuesday 25th – Friday 28th October, all students got involved in a variety of activities including First Aid Qualifications, water safety procedures and hazard spotting!
