The Student Union is a small group of students at Homefield College given the opportunity to create decisions, advise their peers, and to show staff what we think needs to be done to make the college a safer, more comfortable, and better place all around.

Hello, I am Denzil, a second-year student at Homefield. I am an ambitious student and with the endorsement and encouragement of the college I have managed to achieve many things that will help me in life.

The year started busy as always, but it was a welcome relief to be going into an academic year without the impact of the pandemic leading the priority of our work. This meant that we could focus on what we do best, which is engaging with the community and real experiences for the students. There is far too much that has been achieved by the students in this academic year to cover everything, but a flavour of the year follows.

Hi I’m Alex Jones, I am 21 years old, I have ADHD and autism, and I’ve been a member of T.E.C.K for about three years now. Despite life throwing up hurdles, I’m on my way to university now. This is my story.

As part of a mock election, Pathway Two Personal Development students created a campaign around what they would do if they were to become PM.

On Tuesday 9th of May we held our annual Student Conference, where students engage in activities as a whole-college community, try something new and develop their skills about a specific theme or topic. This year’s focus was on employability and enterprise.

On Wednesday 19th of April, Student Union representatives Harry and Savannah had the honour of visiting Parliament in London!
